Ethiopia Yirgacheffe: The one that changed the coffee game for us – This coffee from the Kochere District in the Yirgacheffe region of Ethiopia has a distinct fruity and floral aroma and flavor that we find truly unique.  This coffee is grown at an elevation of about 2000 meters above sea level and is light-roasted to bring out its tea-like characteristics, deep body, and crisp acidity.


It is said that the coffee plant was discovered in Ethiopia by a goat-herder, whose caffeine-fueled goats frolicked and pranced around merrily.  Curious as to why they acted this way, he observed his flock eating an unfamiliar plant with red cherries and shiny leaves.  He then made the historic decision to consume these same red cherries and unofficially became the most productive goat-herder in all of Ethiopia. Today, the cultivation and exportation of coffee remains an important part of the Ethiopian culture and economy.
